It is with great sadness that we have to report the death of Pat Bason RIP. Pat was the wife of Jack Bason who produced our newsletters in booklet form for those not on the internet for many years
Pat was 91 years of age and led a full and interesting life until about 18 years ago when, after an operation, she became paralysed. She spent the remainder of her life wheelchair bound and Jack became her carer, learning to cook and housekeep under Pats discerning eye.
Pat never ever complained about her lot and just got on as best she could given her circumstances. You could always have a good chat with her about life and history, as well as the more everyday things like getting your hair cut and planning the garden. She had a very active and alert mind and had been an accountant all her working life.
Jack and Pat had been married for 67 years, but had known each other for some years before that, making theirs a life long relationship and indeed deep friendship. She will be greatly missed.
